They rarely leave Terra and are rarely seen outside the Imperial Palace, safeguarding their recumbent master and patrolling the palace precincts. The sanctity of the Emperor’s inner chamber, the Sanctum Imperialis, lies within their purview, and they decide who may enter and when.
Resurgence in the Era Indomitus
The birth of the Great Rift and the resurgence of Roboute Guilliman have compelled the Adeptus Custodes to adopt a more active role in galactic affairs. They have ventured forth with Guilliman’s Indomitus Crusade, often acting as heralds for the Torchbearers fleet, carrying the Primaris creation technology to existing Space Marine Chapters.
