Horus Heresy: Legions Imperialis - A Long Awaited Epic Scale Wargame
We have waited a long time for this. Today the preorders for Legions Imperialis have started. Postponed a few times, this game is set in the Horus Heresy era of the Warhammer 40k universe. Legions Imperialis, as an epic scale wargame, let you command huge armies, composed of infantry regiments, tanks, knights, titans and so on. Without further ado, we will go straight with some information about the game itself!
Horus Heresy: Legions Imperialis Setup
Horus Heresy, a cataclysmic event within the Warhammer 40,000 universe, was a devastating conflict that shattered the unity of the Imperium of Man. Triggered by the betrayal of the Warmaster Horus, favored son of the Emperor, half of the Space Marine Legions turned against their brethren in a brutal struggle for dominance. This betrayal plunged the galaxy into a maelstrom of warfare, pitting brother against brother and tearing apart the very fabric of humanity’s empire. Planets burned, entire systems were laid to waste, and unimaginable horrors were unleashed as the loyalists fought desperately to quell the rebellion and preserve the Imperium, while traitor forces sought to undermine and destroy everything in their path, culminating in a tragic and harrowing conflict that scarred the galaxy for millennia to come.
Armies Available During Pre-Order of Legions Imperialis
Legiones Astartes
A Space Marine Legion represented a powerful vanguard consisting of tens of thousands of superhuman Astartes soldiers armed with the best weaponry provided by the Imperium. Unlike the 1,000-member Chapters formed after the Horus Heresy, a Space Marine Legion could range in size from 10,000 to over 250,000 Space Marines, accompanied by the Legion’s linked Imperial Army, support units, and Armada Imperialis fleet components.
The Solar Auxilia
The Solar Auxilia, a prominent faction within the vast Excertus Imperialis, commonly known as the Imperial Army, distinguished themselves as an exceptionally skilled and well-equipped force within the burgeoning Imperium of Man during the late 30th and early 31st Millennia, spanning the Great Crusade and the turbulent Horus Heresy. Revered for their elite training, unwavering discipline, and superior armament, they stood as a symbol of military prowess, often considered second only to the superhuman Legiones Astartes in battle effectiveness. While other renowned units like the legendary Lucifer Blacks or the genetically enhanced Marnean Armsmen might surpass them in individual reputation, what truly set the Solar Auxilia apart was their broader impact. Unlike singular regiments tied to specific cultures or worlds, the Solar Auxilia represented a standardized model—a culture of warfare and strategic organization replicated successfully across hundreds of worlds.
