Get to know our Painters – Interview with Kacper

Hello there!

This is another post from the series of articles in which you will have opportunity to get to know our team.

Today we want to introduce you to Kacper. Without further ado we’re going straight into the interview! πŸ˜€

Do you remember your first painted miniature? What are your memories associated with it?

It was the Tau Scout in stealth armor and it it looked like it was painted by me with a toothpick πŸ˜ƒ

Among the painted miniatures (which left an impression on you), which one provided you with the most joy during the painting/creative process, and why?

One of the miniatures that stuck in my memory is a dragon painted in the style of Marco Frisoni. This model brought me a lot of joy due to its abundance of details and the opportunity to learn new techniques. In my list of favorites, most of the models belong to the “big boy” group, like the Man-Eater Giant, which was enjoyable to work on, the Kruleboyz Vulcha or the black-green runic Imperial Knight. However, I can’t forget about the smaller models, especially the Darth Maul, where I discovered that black doesn’t have to be boring and just black.

What are your favorite painting techniques, and how do they influence your artworks?

I can confidently say that stippling and highlights with thin lines are my favorite techniques. Both of these techniques allow me to create texture on surfaces and provide control over the painted element. Another favorite technique, although time-consuming and never-ending, is glazing. Mixing these techniques ensures that the models are definitely not boring.

If you could paint any model without time constraints, what would you choose?

Choosing a single model is an incredibly difficult task. The world is full of beautiful models. However, if I were to choose something without limitations, it would definitely be a model from the XXL group, perhaps a demon or a bust. Currently, Avatar Khine has caught my eye.

Do you draw inspiration from specific artists? Whom do you follow on Instagram?

My favorite artist is definitely elminiaturista. I would also include angel_giraldez, sergiocalvominiatures, and masclans_miniatures among my favorites.

Do you play wargames? If so, what are your favorite systems?

Currently, I play four wargame systems: Warhammer 40k, Warhammer Underworlds, Kill Team, and Shatterpoint.
