Star Wars Legion – Battleforces – Echo Base Defenders

The Echo Base Defenders: Brave Heroes of the Battle of Hoth

Echo Base Defenders were the Rebel Alliance soldiers and pilots stationed at the secret base on the ice planet of Hoth. They were responsible for defending the base against any Imperial attacks. During the Battle of Hoth, the Echo Base defenders bravely fought against the Imperial forces led by Darth Vader. They used various weapons and vehicles, such as the T-47 airspeeders and the powerful Ion Cannon, to hold off the Empire’s assault. Despite their valiant efforts, the Echo Base defenders were eventually forced to evacuate the base and retreat. However, their sacrifice allowed the majority of the Rebel forces to escape and live to fight another day. The Echo Base defenders were hailed as heroes and their bravery is remembered by the Rebel Alliance to this day.

Special Rules of List Building:

1-4 Commanders and/or Operatives (one of them must be a Commander)

3-6 Corps Units

1-4 Support Units

0-2 Heavy Units

List of Allowed Units:

Commanders: Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Rebel Officer

Operatives: Chewbacca, R2-D2

Corps: Rebel Veterans, Mark II Medium Blaster Trooper

Support: 1.4 FD Laser Cannon Team, Tauntaun Riders

Heavy: T-47 Airspeeder

Battle force – specific command cards:

[Pip-1] Delaying Tactics – First of the Command Cards lets you give order for one of your units (any rank) and then, at the end of the Command Phase, forces your opponent to choose one of their non-Commander units that have a face-up order token and return it to the order pool. Corrupt your opponent’s plans with this!

[Pip-2] Courage of the Rebellion – Ordering any two of your units and then lets you recover each trooper unit that was issued by this card. Prepare your exhausted weapons, upgrades and get rid of suppression tokens in no time!

[Pip-3] Hold at Any Cost – This one is your most powerful weapon across all things that this battleforce has to offer you. I have described it in our other article. But in short: you give orders to three corps units (and these should always be your Veterans, they will get Dodges and Coordinates your Mark II Troopers). All your Corps units get Aim tokens, then all your Emplacement troopers get Standby tokens. This means not only many free tokens, but also transforms the battlefield into one big chessboard for your opponent.

Short description of Strategy:

You’re playing a kind of gunline, so every objective that’s about holding a position or point is good for you. Another scenario in which you can compete with successes is Breakthrough. You can hold your part of the board, while also getting close to opponent deployment with units such as Tauntauns and/or Airspeeders.
