Tyranids come not only in numbers, but in colors too!
There is one Xenos army, which comes in numbers to our studio: Tyranids. And it was a matter of time to have in our studio portfolio a lot of different painting schemes.
In this article we’ve wanted to share the most awesome and interesting Tyranid Painting Schemes, which rolled out from our studio!
Enjoy!

Different Flavors of Tyranids
The Ice Hive Fleet: Winter Tyranids
The first army, the most original and well-loved in our community, is the Winter Tyranids.
Tyranids are not only numerous, they also exist on countless, highly diverse planets. And many of these planets have been completely stripped of biomass by them. This means that they adapt genetically to the biomass they consume.
So we started imagining how these creatures might look from different corners of the galaxy. And we were most drawn to the concept of the Hive, that stripped down a dozen frozen worlds.
The effect was achieved thanks to the appropriate use of pastel Speedpaints from Army Painter.
The whole history behind them you can check here.

Sunny Invasion: Beach Day Tyranids
The second painting scheme got us already 3 huge armies and some smaller projects to paint in that scheme.
We published it some time ago here, and since then our “Beach Day Tyranids” are one of the most interesting Tyranid painting schemes we’ve created.

Swamp Beasts: Bone-Colored Tyranids
This one was one of our client’s ideas to add this commission a bone-brown look.
We do imagine that these Tyranids ate through a lot of mud and dirt, and they adapted the main colour of what they ate.

Soaked in Gore: Blood Tyranids
The fourth scheme is our interpretation of a hive that devoured worlds full of red fauna.
We called them the “Blood Tyranids.”
The deep, almost wet red of the skin contrasts with a much darker armor, suggesting that these beasts are literally soaked in the blood of their victims.

A Classic of the Hive: Hive Fleet Cetu
These Tyranids were painted in the official scheme of Hive Fleet Cetu.
This is a splinter fleet of the mighty Hive Fleet Kraken, known for its speed and preference for aerial attacks. Their characteristic light violet carapace makes them one of the most recognizable and striking Tyranids on the tabletop.

Psychedelic Terror: Synthwave-Style Tyranids
In the presented project our target was to make an interesting, alternate color pattern for Tyranids and our inspiration was Synthwave – a genre of electronic music that had its beginning in the early 2000s. The final effect was astounding – we have created truly psychedelic miniatures.
Like, the planet they devoured could be covered with shrooms. You know what kind.

From Inspiration to Invasion: Your Hive Fleet Awaits
As you can see, Tyranids don’t have to be boring. From icy wastelands to psychedelic worlds, every hive fleet can be unique in every way, even with the same models from delivered for us by GW ages ago. However, we know that creating a unique and cohesive scheme for many of models is a huge challenge.
If you have your own crazy idea in mind, or you fell in love with one of our schemes, we’re here to help. Our studio specializes in turning inspiration into ready-to-play, awesome armies.
