Surviving the Nightmare: A Kingdom Death: Monster Painted Showcase
Kingdom Death: Monster is one of the most unique, rewarding, and brutal experiences in the hobby. It’s a massive, long-form campaign about survival in a nightmarish world.
It’s also a box full of some of the most beautiful, complex, and intimidating miniatures ever made.
For many players, this is the ultimate “grail” game. But that’s also what makes it so terrifying. When you’ve spent so much on a game, the idea of ruining an expensive, rare, or absurdly complex model is a huge source of stress. We’ve had the pleasure of helping several clients overcome that fear and get their settlements ready for the darkness.
Here’s a showcase of some of our favorite KDM commissions we’ve painted.

The Survivors, The Hunted, and The Horrors
The Gambler
The main event of the Gambler’s Chest. This is main model, a bizarre, floating entity that shows the most the game’s theme of random, cruel fate. A complex build and a fantastic painting challenge, this model was great to work on.

Lion Knight
A “Nemesis” monster who hunts you. The Lion Knight is a regal, arrogant, and deeply unsettling character. This project was all about capturing that rich, theatrical feel, in more bloody setting. Or should we say, un-setting.

The Phoenix
This is the model that makes most new KDM owners just stare at the box in fear. It’s one of the core monsters, a grotesque creature covered in hands with a giant, toothy maw. It’s a notoriously difficult build, and painting it to look “right” (and horrifying) is a major project.
We loved getting this one table-ready.

Summer Goth
KDM are not only monsters. It’s also famous for its “pinup” and “promo” models. This Summer Goth is a perfect example of that. It’s a high-end, display-quality collector’s piece, where the goal is a nice model, ready to put next to the other KDM miniatures.

Flower Knight
A fan-favorite expansion, the Flower Knight is a different kind of KDM model. It’s incredibly intricate and beautiful, a knight made of leaves and petals. This model is a true test of delicate highlighting and blending, and it looks amazing as a “boss” in a different, more subdued color palette.

Crimson Croc
Another new terror from the Gambler’s Chest, the Crimson Croc is a quarry monster that’s just pure, brutal nightmare fuel. It’s a fantastic sculpt that takes the classic “giant crocodile” trope and gives it that signature KDM twist.

Bone Eaters
This set of four survivors from the Gambler’s Chest shows the grim reality of the settlement. Bone Eaters are desperate people with a dark, cannibalistic needs Painting them was all about capturing that grim, grounded, and desperate characters.

Your Settlement Deserves This
Kingdom Death: Monster is a game about immersion. It’s a story you live with for months, or even years. But it’s hard to feel the horror when you’re moving grey, unbuilt plastic around the board.
You’ve already made the huge investment in the game. Don’t let the fear of ruining a model or the sheer lack of time stop you from having the experience you deserve. You’ve got a cabinet full of “grail” models that are notoriously complex, and you shouldn’t have to stress about them.
Let us be your safety net. You can hand us your Phoenix, your Gambler, or your entire set of starting survivors. We’ll handle the high-stakes assembly and painting, and you’ll get a fully-realized, immersive world for your next campaign.
