Stormcast Eternals: The Immortal Guardians of Order
In the realm of the Warhammer Age of Sigmar, the Stormcast Eternals stand as the indomitable champions of the God-King Sigmar. These superhuman warriors are forged from the souls of mortal heroes, reborn as living weapons of celestial power. Their devotion to their Divine Master and their pursuit of Chaos make them a powerful force in the universe.

I approached this model a bit like painting a picture. First, I did an underpainting, then I laid out the highlights and shadows, and only then did I apply the colors.
The customer requested that the armor be silver, so the colors were chosen to match that shade and to contrast with each other. The gryphon, on the other hand, was inspired by a stork. The Display Level in our studio is very individual. It’s created by both the painters and tailored to the client.
The new Stormcasts are very enjoyable to paint. The regular infantry is personally less interesting to me. However, the heroes are very dynamic and interesting.

The Creation of a Stormcast Eternal
The process of becoming a Stormcast Eternal is a grueling ordeal. Chosen souls are subjected to the purifying flames of the Chamber of the Broken World, their spirits reforged and tempered in the Cairns of Tempering. Finally, they are struck by the World Hammer, infusing them with the divine might of Sigmar himself. This arduous transformation grants them immortality, though at a cost.
The Price of Immortality
While the Stormcast Eternals are incredibly powerful, their immortality comes with a price. The Reforging process gradually erodes their humanity, leaving them as distant and emotionless shells of their former selves. Their memories fade, and their personalities become fractured. Some even develop strange and unsettling behaviors, a sign of the toll that eternal life takes on their souls.
The Lifespan of a Stormcast Eternal
The lifespan of a Stormcast Eternal is a mystery, known only to Sigmar himself. Their mortal bodies have long since been replaced by celestial energy, and the Reforging process can take years at a time. Some may have been reborn hundreds of years ago, while others may have only recently fallen in battle and been reforged.
Death is Not the End
Perhaps the most defining feature of the Stormcast Eternals is their determination. Even when they fall in battle, their souls are called back to Azyr to be reforged once more. This cycle of death and rebirth allows them to continue their eternal crusade against Chaos, a testament to their loyalty to the God-King Sigmar.
