Totally Custom Orks - Kitbashed Ork Jetbikes
Today we want to show you another outstanding project. This time there are custom, kitbashed Ork Jetbikes. And “custom” means made out from scratch! They’re born from loads of bits and an idea and fully “crafted” by one of our Senior Painters – Emilia. She not only painted them. She assembled them all alone and gave them their Orky soul!

Where did the idea for the models come from? What was your inspiration?
I start working on a project like this by creating a backstory for the army. I like to know who I’m dealing with. In my mind, this project combines the Orky engineering mindset with a show I used to watch on Discovery Science called “Scrapheap Challenge.” I also try to think like an Ork: da bigga da boom, da betta.
What's the process of assembling such completely custom models like? Do you enjoy creating "something from nothing"?
I’ll start from the end: I LOVE working on projects like these, it feels like being a kid in Disney World. I always start by looking for good base models (I like to choose from the Ork’s enemies because in my story they are vehicles captured after battle, which the Orks repair and modify). The next step is always to create a parts base (we have a really big pile of bits in the workshop) and I choose the Orky mechanical ones and anything that catches my eye. After that, it’s just crazy Orky improvisation!
