40k – Death Guard Army

The Death Guard: A Plague Upon the Imperium

In the Warhammer 40k universe, there are few forces more terrifying than the Death Guard. These Chaos Space Marines, once a bastion of the Imperium, are now corrupted by the insidious influence of Nurgle, the Plague God. Their bodies are ravaged by disease, their minds twisted by despair, and their hearts filled with a twisted, nihilistic joy.

What we have here is the whole army, including their twisted and corrupted Primarch, Mortarion. If you also want your army to be painted, wait no more, contact us and book your own commission!

A Legion of the Emperor

The Death Guard’s origins can be traced back to the Great Crusade, when the Emperor sought to reunite humanity under His banner. The XIVth Legion, as they were then known, were renowned for their resilience and strength. Led by their Primarch, Mortarion, they were a formidable force on the battlefield.

However, Mortarion’s relationship with the Emperor was a complex one. Raised in the toxic world of Barbarus, Mortarion developed a deep-seated resentment towards the Emperor. This resentment eventually led him down the path of treachery, and he joined the forces of Chaos.

The Embrace of Nurgle

When Mortarion and the Death Guard turned to Chaos, they found themselves drawn to the power of Nurgle. The Plague God’s promise of eternal life, even in a state of decay, appealed to the Legion’s desire for immortality. As they embraced Nurgle’s gifts, the Death Guard underwent a horrifying transformation.

Their bodies became rotting husks, their armor stained with filth and disease. They were infected with every conceivable malady, yet they remained alive, their bodies constantly regenerating even as they decayed. The Death Guard became walking plagues, spreading disease and death wherever they went.

The Plague Planet

After the Horus Heresy, Mortarion led the Death Guard to a world they called the Plague Planet. This world became a reflection of their own corrupted nature, a toxic wasteland filled with disease and decay. The Death Guard thrived in this environment, their bodies perfectly adapted to the harsh conditions.

A Constant Threat

Today, the Death Guard remains a constant threat to the Imperium. They launch raids from the Eye of Terror, spreading their plagues and corruption throughout the galaxy. Their armies are led by powerful Daemon Princes, who wield the terrible powers of Nurgle.

The Death Guard are more than just a military force. They are a symbol of the corrupting influence of Chaos, a reminder of the horrors that can befall those who turn away from the Emperor’s light.
