Get to know our Painters – Interview with Dominika
This is another post from the series of articles in which you will have opportunity to get to know our team.
Today we want to introduce you to Dominika. She is one our Painters! Without further ado we’re going straight into the interview! 😃
Do you remember your first figurine that you painted? What are your memories associated with it?
My first figure was probably a zombie from Zombicide. I remember being excited, but also scared that I might mess something up, so it took me a very long time.
Which of the painted figurines (that stood out to you) brought you the most joy during the painting/creative process and why?
It was a Necron Void Dragon. I wanted to try different techniques then, and just went for it without a more specific plan and it turned out great! It was a pleasant experiment.
What are your favorite painting techniques, and how do they influence your artwork?
I don’t have a single favorite technique. I like to combine various techniques – I believe that’s when I can achieve the most interesting effects, and it brings me the most joy.
If you could paint any model without time constraints, what would you choose?
A large Tau robot like Stormsurge. I don’t specialize in these types of models, but I would really like to paint it in an unconventional scheme and see how it turns out, just for an experiment.
Do you draw inspiration from specific artists? Whom do you follow on Instagram?
I really like El Miniaturista, I also learned a lot from Marco Frisoni. The works of my colleagues often inspire me as well.
