Blood & Beauty: The Daughters of Khaine Army in Detail

Bloodshed is prayer, slaughter is worship.

For the Daughters of Khaine, devotion is measured in spilled vitae and ritualistic killings performed in the name of Khaine – or the serpentine goddess who usurped his power.

Now, explore a painted realization of this lethal sisterhood, commanded by the shadow-weaving matriarch Morathi-Khaine herself. Witness how sublime artistry can capture terrifying fanaticism, where every brushstroke vibrantly echoes the ritualistic precision of their killing arts.

This detailed showcase not only presents the visual splendor of the Daughters of Khaine army but invites you to understand the chilling lore and dark bargains that define these devoted, and often monstrous, servants of the Shadow Queen.

Morathi-Khaine & The Shadow Queen: The Ascendant Matriarch

Ruling the Daughters of Khaine is Morathi-Khaine, a figure of divine power and ancient malice.

Having achieved godhood through centuries of deceit, she embodies a terrifying duality: the beautiful High Oracle and the monstrous Shadow Queen, her true serpentine form revealing immense power and wrath. Her existence is defined by an insatiable lust for power, a deep hatred for the Chaos God Slaanesh who once imprisoned her, and absolute control over the cult she founded upon rescued, often twisted, Aelven souls.

Altar of Blood: Shrine & Cauldron Variants

Central to Khainite worship are the great mobile altars built upon writhing metal frames.

One kit allows the construction of either key variant seen in the Daughters of Khaine army: the Bloodwrack Shrine or the Cauldron of Blood. The Shrine carries a Bloodwrack Medusa, a horrifying Melusai whose gaze projects waves of crippling agony. The Cauldron, conversely, holds boiling ritual concoctions that drive nearby worshippers into a divine frenzy, and is often crewed by attendants and presided over by a powerful priestess – either a Hag Queen or a Slaughter Queen – who anoints the faithful. Both structures serve as potent conduits for divine power and symbols of the bloody faith.

Cult Champions: Ironscale & High Gladiatrix

Leading the Khainite hosts are various champions who embody different aspects of Morathi’s cult.

The Melusai Ironscale is a veteran serpentine commander, ruthless and efficient, acting as Morathi’s favoured enforcers.  The High Gladiatrix, emerging victorious from the brutal arenas, is a peerless duelist and executioner, inspiring the Witch Aelves through sheer martial prowess.

Melusai Cohorts: Blood Sisters & Blood Stalkers

The chilling Melusai are serpent-bodied Aelves forged from souls Morathi deemed ‘imperfect’.

They serve her utterly, primarily forming two distinct cohorts. Blood Sisters act as elite shock troops and guardians, wielding heavy heartshard glaives guided by dark magic to seek out enemy life forces. Blood Stalkers provide lethal ranged support, their heartseeker bows firing arrows that magically track their targets to deliver killing shots. Together, they represent the terrifying potential of Morathi’s soul-crafting.

Khinerai Flights: Heartrenders & Lifetakers

Taking to the skies are the Khinerai, winged Aelves also born from Morathi’s experiments on rescued souls.

These harpies form deadly aerial flights with distinct roles. Heartrenders act as scouts and airborne harassers, loosing volleys of barbed javelins from above before retreating into the clouds. Lifetakers, embodying the cult’s ecstatic killing joy, dive directly into combat, becoming a whirlwind of death with their vicious sickles. They bring swift, unexpected death from the skies.

Doomfire Warlocks: Cursed Magi

An unusual element within the Khainite cults are the Doomfire Warlocks.

These male Aelves were cursed for seeking forbidden arcane knowledge, often bound into servitude. Mounted on shadowy steeds, they unleash destructive dark magic and fight with cursed blades, their fury often fuelled by desperation and their binding oaths.

Witch Aelves: The Cult's Frenzied Heart

The backbone and fanatical core of the Daughters of Khaine army are the Witch Aelves.

These warriors enter a divine, murderous frenzy in battle, fuelled by ritual and bloodshed. Wielding paired sacrificial knives, they perform intricate, deadly dances of death through enemy formations, each kill a prayer to the God of Murder. Their collective devotion and killing ecstasy define the Khainite way of war.
