Age of Sigmar Skaven Army – Cunning, Brutal, Unpredictable

Sir, you have rats running on your shelves

If you’ve got rats in your home, you don’t have just one. You have dozens, maybe hundreds. They spread, multiply, and refuse to go away.

It’s the same with Age of Sigmar Skaven armies. They don’t fight with honor or discipline. And most of the time, there are a lot units on the table.

But this army is different.

This force isn’t about numbers. It’s about specialization. Warlocks, enforcers, bioengineered horrors, and elite warriors: each with a special role to play.

Let’s see which units make up this Age of Sigmar Skaven army.

Commanders and units of the Age of Sigmar Skaven Army

Vizzik Skour & Krittok Foulblade - Masters of Command and Execution

Every Age of Sigmar Skaven army needs its leaders, and this one is no exception.

The proud role of a leader, both spiritual and “tactical” (though tactics aren’t exactly a strong suit for our beloved rats), falls to Vizzik Skour, Prophet of the Horned Rat. Beyond his leadership abilities, he is a powerful force on the battlefield in his own right. He wields magic granted to him directly by the Horned Rat.

But magic isn’t enough to keep a Skaven force together. That’s why Krittok Foulblade is here. As a Skaven enforcer from Clan Skryre, his job is simple: keep the Skaven ranks in line. It’s a tough job, given the wild nature of a Skaven army, but Krittok is more than capable of handling it.

Those Skaven “heroes” lead in battle more specialized units.

Angry rat is probably hungry. For blood or cheese ofc.

Brood Terror & Master Moulders - Bioengineering at Its Worst

Skaven don’t trust nature. They “improve” it by making it bigger, stronger, and far more horrifying.

The Brood Terror is a perfect example of this. A massive unit  moves with terrifying speed and crushes anything foolish enough to stand in its way.

Of course, you need something to keep this unit under control during battle. That’s where the Master Moulders come in. A wounded Brood Terror? Just inject it with more Warp energy. If it mutates beyond control? Even better. Skaven science doesn’t stop for ethics.

Dudes responsible for the meaty guy.

Doom-Flayers & Warlocks - When Magic Meets Mayhem

Skaven technology is as brilliant as it is unstable.

Take the Doom-Flayers, for example. A rolling ball of spinning Warp-powered blades, piloted by a Skaven who’s just crazy enough to think he’ll survive. These mechanical balls tear through enemy lines before breaking down, or exploding.

None of this would be possible without Arch-Warlocks and Warlock Galvaneers. These mad engineers mix magic and machinery, pushing Skaven technology to its limits.

We see them rollin'. And we lovin' how they rollin'.

Warpspark Weapon Battery & Warp Lightning Cannons - Firepower of our Age of Sigmar Skaven army

Precision? That’s for lesser races.

The Skaven army prefers overwhelming destruction.

The Warpspark Weapon Battery adn Warp Lightning Cannons embodies this philosophy. These stationary units fire unstable bursts of raw Warp energy, obliterating anything in its path. Theoretically, it’s meant to hit enemies.

In practice? Anything nearby should probably run.

Wood, magic and metal parts combined. What can go wrong?

Look how 3 guns look different. There is no patent here, it just works.

Stormvermin - The Closest Skaven Get to Discipline

Most Age of Sigmar Skaven armies don’t fight with rigid formations or honorable duels. They strike first, strike fast, and strike dirty.

But even in this world of deception and backstabbing, Stormvermin stand apart. They are bigger, stronger, and better equipped than the average Skaven warrior, serving as elite enforcers, bodyguards, and frontline troops.

In this army, Stormvermin form the backbone, keeping the more chaotic elements from collapsing too quickly.

Like, even if every cannon or battery fails, they are there to continue the fight.

You can tell that we see one unit of Stormvermin here. Count the banners.
