The World Eaters: Khorne’s Bloodthirsty Warriors of the Horus Heresy
The World Eaters were once a proud and loyal Space Marine Legion, but during the Horus Heresy, they were corrupted by the Chaos God Khorne and became some of the most fearsome and bloodthirsty warriors in the galaxy. Led by the Primarch Angron, the World Eaters fought fiercely for Horus and the forces of Chaos.
As their name suggests, the World Eaters became known for their indiscriminate and savage approach to battle, often throwing themselves into the fray without regard for their own safety or the consequences of their actions. Their battle cry of “Blood for the Blood God!” became infamous throughout the galaxy, and their reputation for brutality and bloodshed struck fear into the hearts of their enemies.
Under the leadership of Angron, the World Eaters became even more fanatical in their devotion to Khorne, with the Primarch himself often entering into a berserk rage on the battlefield. The World Eaters’ transformation into Khorne’s chosen warriors was complete, and their once-noble traditions and beliefs were lost to the violence and brutality of their new master.
During the Horus Heresy, the World Eaters played a crucial role in many of the pivotal battles of the conflict. They fought in the Siege of Terra, and their ferocity and savagery were instrumental in many of the early successes of Horus’ forces. However, their uncontrolled bloodlust and lack of strategic thinking often caused them to suffer heavy casualties, and they were ultimately defeated by the combined forces of the loyalist Space Marines.
After the Horus Heresy, the World Eaters retreated into the Eye of Terror, where they continue to wage an endless war in Khorne’s name. They have become a byword for mindless violence and savagery, feared and reviled by all who know of them. Despite their fall from grace, however, the World Eaters remain one of the most fearsome and dangerous forces in the galaxy, a testament to the terrible power of Chaos.
